Family holidays are a yearly tradition for many, but choosing a great destination for kids is not always easy. Whether you have young children or teens, you need to keep them in mind and make sure that they will be happy and relaxed throughout the trip. After all, this is the best way to ensure that you and your family as a whole have an amazing vacation! With that in mind, here are five awesome destinations suitable for your whole family.

#1. Santa Teresa, Costa Rica

Santa Teresa is perfect on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, the emerald gem of Central America, and it’s also one of the best places to take family holidays. The reason for this is that Santa Teresa offers a little something for everyone—endless natural attractions for your young ones, adrenaline-filled activities like surfing for your teens, and relaxing beaches for the adults to entertain themselves with. A win all around!

#2. Lyon, France

Lyon is known as one of France’s culinary capitals, but it’s also equipped with some of the best family attractions in the Old Continent. From a free public zoo that’s incorporated into the city’s most beautiful park to some of France’s most magnificent sports venues, museums, and markets, you won’t run out of things to do with your family in Lyon!

 #3. Seoul, South Korea

If Seoul was a person, it would have the soul of a child. A city with a unique contrast—it fuses modern technology with ancient traditions—Seoul gives you the opportunity to take your children to attractions like the Gyeongbokgung to witness ceremonies like the changing of the guards. Then, you can pop into the Samsung Children’s Museum for a modern, interactive experience.

#4. Vancouver, Canada

Vancouver needs no introduction to avid travelers. But if you haven’t taken your kid there for the holidays yet, you ought to do it soon! This iconic Canadian city has neverending trails in Grouse Mountain, one of the nation’s best aquariums, the majestic Stanley Park, and dozens of other family-centric activities that will keep you busy all day long.

#5. Pembrokeshire, Wales

You may have not heard of Pembrokeshire yet, but don’t be surprised if it ends up close to the top of your list. Nestled in one of the greenest parts of the UK, this family haven is perfect for a getaway with your tribe because it has miles of untouched beaches and picturesque landscapes.  Also, if you’re looking for something a bit more adventurous while you’re there, you can always take your family to Oakwood Theme Park or Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo depending on what you prefer.

Tips for a Perfect, Kid-Friendly Holiday

What Makes a Great Destination for Kids?

As you already know, traveling with kids is different from taking holidays with grown-ups. Here are some of the requirements you should keep in mind.

Safety

Parents and children are not usually targeted by criminals abroad, but it’s always best to choose a place with lower crime rates. This reduces the chance of running into a bad experience, even if it’s just pick-pocketing.

Easy Accessibility

Traveling is stressful for adults and even more so for kids who don’t have control over most situations. Because of this, you need to consider how easy it is to get to a specific destination before taking your children there. The best location will vary depending on where you live. And always remember that being closer on the map doesn’t mean it’s easier to get to! So, always check on a map or similar tool before choosing your holidays.

Easy to Navigate

Getting there is essential, but you also have to ensure that moving around is easy in the places you’re visiting with your kids. Poor bus connections, lack of trains, and expensive flights don’t usually make for a great kid’s holiday. Instead, choose destinations that have competent trains, good metro coverage, and cheap car rentals.

Planning a trip for your family is a fun and adventurous task. But, as with all other things related to your loved ones, you also need to take the steps to make it a safe, easy, and stress-free experience. The best way to plan your trip is with the help of a local guide who has firsthand experience and can therefore tell you whether certain attractions are suitable for your kids. ALLMYNE can help connect you with local tour guides that can give you information about each place, verify in person whether each attraction is a good idea for your family, and even tag along and visit the different places with you and your kids.
