We’ve found the most delicious and authentic Jamaican Oxtail recipe for you to try out at home in honor of National Caribbean-American Heritage month. Ingredients
- 3 to 3 1/2 pounds oxtail
- 1 small carrot (chopped)
- 1 1/2 onion (sliced and halved)
- 1 tomato (chopped)
- Sweet peppers (yellow, green, and red; julienne)
- 2 stalk of scallions (chopped)
- 1 Tsp ginger
- 2 Tbsp fresh thyme
- 4 cloves garlic
- Scotch bonnet pepper (to taste)
- 1 can butter beans
- 2 Tsp pimento seed/all spice
- 1 Tsp browning or dark soya
- Olive oil
- 6 to 10 cup hot water
- 1/2 tsp salt
For Seasoning
- 1 Tbsp all purpose seasoning
- 1 Tbsp jerk seasoning
- 1 Tsp oxtail seasoning
- 1 Tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
