Anyone traveling to Barcelona has probably already included the magnificent Antoni Gaudi attractions in their itineraries. But what about all those hidden gems people forget to explore? Well, we’ve put together six awesome reasons—other than Gaudi—to visit this Catalonian capital!

But first, a brief introduction to Barcelona and Gaudi.

The city of Barcelona has mysterious origins that date back thousands upon thousands of years. Since it was first settled, the city has given birth to a huge number of philosophers, sports icons, entertainers, and artists — and the most notable of all of them may just be Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi was a Spanish architect who is responsible for Barcelona’s most iconic landmarks: La Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, and La Pedrera. And, once you experience each one of these masterpieces, it’s easy to see why some travelers base their entire trip around these stunning sites. But, the truth is that Barcelona has a lot to offer other than Gaudi’s majestic monuments.

Barcelona is the heart and soul of Spain’s Catalonia region, inspiring its residents and passersby to strive for greatness. Here are some of just a few reasons why this city is so amazing.

#1. A Customizable Experience

It doesn’t matter if you want to plan your trip around gastronomy, culture, history, nature, nightlife, or a combination of the above, Barcelona has it all. And what better way to book your next trip with the safety of certified guides and easy-to-navigate itineraries than our services provided at ALLMYNE?

#2. Public Transport and Walkability

It may not be the first thing that comes to mind when choosing a destination, but being able to move around a city easily is important if you want to visit a lot of different features. Barcelona is mostly flat, has a wide sidewalk, features cycling lanes, and offers a wide range of transportation options. This includes metro lines, trams, rideshares, and bicycle renting apps

#3. The Weather

Besides those rainy days in March until early April, there’s a strong chance you’ll have plenty of sunshine and tranquil days while visiting the capital of Catalonia. Typically, January sees their lowest temperatures drop to 40ºF, which is nothing if you’re coming from our chillier areas like Canada, northern parts of America, and Antarctica. The highest temperatures get up to the mid-80s during August. Luckily, Barcelona hasn’t seen many days outside of these two ranges!

#4. Reasonable Pricing

Yes, traveling to Barcelona is more expensive than some destinations. But considering the fact it’s a cosmopolitan city with a lot to offer, the prices for accommodation, restaurant meals, and similar expenses are extremely fair.

#5. The Pyrenees

The Pyrenees mountain range works as a natural wall that divides France and Spain. Besides that, these geological formations make Barcelona a unique place where you can easily take ski trips during the winter and beach holidays during the summer. How versatile!

#6. The Mediterranean

Did someone just mention beach holidays? The south end of the city of Barcelona is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. Yes, the same Mediterranean that houses beautiful islands like Santorini and Mykonos. Not only this, but there are several beaches in the city for you to choose from. Furthermore, if you prefer something a bit more remote, you can take a short metro ride over to Badalona or hop on the train towards the towns of Vilassar de Mar and Mataro.

So, are you ready to make Barcelona all yours?

Barcelona has a rich cultural heritage, a gifted location, privileged weather, and historic sites. Whether you want to focus on Gaudi’s unique imprint on the city or explore the rest of Barcelona’s great attractions, ALLMYNE can help you create the perfect plan and create a keepsake of every moment. What are you waiting for?
