All of us love to travel. It’s a way for us to connect with people we would have never met, taste foods we would have never tried, and see sights we would have never seen.

But the thing that makes a travel experience an unforgettable memory is if you have a guide who knows the ins and outs of the location you’re visiting. You’ll go from a person with the same picture of the Eiffel Tower hanging in your living room to the talk of the town when people see that incredible photo you took at a secret spot in the Alps.

ALLMYNE has dozens upon dozens of tour guides working with us to bring you timeless moments that will stay with you well after you set foot back home. We got the chance to catch up with some of them, and this is what they had to say!

Hello! I am Liset Aragon ccahua, and I do tours in Machu Picchu and Cusco in Perú. Machu Picchu is one of the newest wonders of the world. It’s an amazing site for history, landscape, and peaceful power. It’s a place you have to see in your lifetime.

With me, a typical itinerary starts with us picking you up from the train station. From there, we go to Machu Picchu by bus, which is a 25-minute long ride. Afterwards, it’s about a 2 ½ hour tour of the entire archaeological site. Then, depending on our schedule, we can come back to the town or head back to the train station!

I think the reason I wanted to become a tour guide was originally because my dad recommended it to me as a thing to do once I finished high school. Then, as I started to know more history and became more comfortable with the foreign language, I grew to love the career a lot more.

The main reason you should do a tour with me is that I can share all the history you’d want to know about the site, and I’m a phenomenal photographer! Finally, one of my favorite parts of being a tour guide is that I get to see the happy faces of my customers as soon as they arrive at the wonders of Machu Picchu.

I encourage you all to come to Machu Picchu just to experience the harmony of nature and the Incan people alone. How they allied to coexist together is a remarkable thing to witness.

Thank you, Liset, for taking the time to tell us all about you! And stay tuned for another rendition of “Fresh Faces and New Places” with our next tour guide. Happy traveling!
